The Hare By Sugar On Top Cafe, Malaysia
Happened to encounter this cafe while venturing the area around Austin Heights and i assure you looks can be really deceiving, I left this cafe a few minutes later even though there were many people visiting the cafe. Before we talked about why i left, let's talk about the cafe layout.
- Glass doors.
- Really good light bulb design.
- White and furnished walls decorated with some drawings. Because the walls are white furnished, it gives the overall cafe a bright environment.
- Wooden tables and chairs and a long sofa kind of seats.
- Bar area was decorated with white bricks of walls with a stainless steel coffee machine.
- Outside of the cafe cater more to the large group of people. Much spacious compared to the inside of the cafe.
- Beside the cafe, there is a huge wall of graffiti done by HARE that is insta-worthy.
Right, now let's move on to the why i left a few minutes later. I decided to only get coffee because i havent had a proper one that entire day, so since i happened to come across this cafe, why not? Now this is the disappointing area.
Ordered Rose latte (RM12.90 ~ SGD$4.15)
- Price that doesnt worth its price in RMB.
- I gotta admit that the latte art is really delicate and well-poured.
HOWEVER, it would be good if the rose petals were much more finely cut for the red cup. First sip of the coffee and i raised my hand for the bill to leave.
- Why isn't any floral taste with the coffee?
- Coffee beans wasnt really well roasted.
- TOO SWEET for a rose latte. WHY? It was too sticky.
If i were to rate this, it would be 2/5. Points to well-poured latte art. Definitely not a choice back here for drinks again.
Never tried their food menu but i saw the signature Hokkaido Matcha Cake that flows out rich larva of matcha (RM16.90 ~ SGD$5.34) was a real hit there. So maybe people are more attracted to their sweets which is why there were having a lot of customer even at that timings.
