Cuppa-ing @ Taiwan
Had a great cuppa over the few weeks at Taiwan and went to some of the cafe! Ohboy this is going to be the longest post so please do bear with me! 😇
Yes, so i decided to stop for a cuppa. Barista said that she requested her friend to bring back some of the coffee beans to brew! So i decided to have the single origin (i couldn't remember the name of it because the name wasn't stamped properly) in cold brew and she added that the coffee bean was ranked as the most popular among the rest.
After grinding, the coffee powder had an aromatic light smell with a great aftertaste - it wasn't too bitter, was kinda acidic. You wouldn't feel that the back of your tongue is dry.
They had like the normal sandwiches to go which i didn't get to try. The barista was really friendly too and she was keen in sharing with me the different coffee beans! Maybe the next time i visit taipei, i would try their own coffee and brews.
Due to the cafe layout - bright white blue furnished walls, overall, it looks aesthetically stunning. Not only that, because the chinese character 喂我 (Wèi wǒ) sounds like whale so you basically see these little figurines of whales everywhere in the cafe. However, once the cafe is crowded, there wasnt much room to walk about.
We went during the weekdays and apparently this cafe is so popular that by 9am, the reservation list on the counter table was already one page filled! Luckily, we came earlier and managed to avoid the waiting.
Went ahead to order our brunch - Classic breakfast and avocado toast with poached eggs,
Cherry tomatoes - roasted, the moment you bite it, the tomato juice just springs out!
Sausage and hash - Sausage wasn't overly overcooked which is the best thing ever. Hash wasnt very oily either and it has this crispiness around it!
Mushrooms - peppery and well marinated. Totally loving the soft chewy texture of it!
Avocado toast with poached eggs. Unexpected.
Well, i was having a different picture of this in mind and when it was served like that, my bubbles burst immediately that day.
There was only a slice of toasted bread with avocado spreaded thickly and one poached egg on top. My poached egg didnt flow out like how it should be. Overally, its just normal. Nothing much to get wow-ed about.
Latte,
Could work more on the latte art but the creamy latte taste is well done. Fluent and smooth down the throat.
I would SO definitely coming back for the rest of their breakfast. I haven't had enough!

The cafe might look small on the outside but it's quite spacious in the inside. I pretty like the layout and the design of the cafe. alphaBlack had 2 outlets in Taipei each with different yet similar interior design!
When you walked in the cafe,
Everything including design layout was simple and clear cut. Their brewing area had so many stuff yet it is so organized!
The cafe basically sells cakes and sandwiches unlike the normal brunch meals. I was more interested in their coffee than the food.
Ordered the Ethiopia Natural Geisha,
The takeaway cup had this cool daring printing font they used. The brew, wow-ed me. Since its natural, it has this strong distinctive taste. It was acidic but heighten the overall flavor of the brew! I never had a brew like this before and it was amazing.
Not much of the food variety so I just ordered the charcoal latte. It was served in a large cuppa rather than the normal sized ones.
I never had these kind of latte before anywhere or maybe there is. just located somewhere but i just didnt had the fate with it until i came here.
I was afraid that it would have a strong bitter aftertaste but no. I could also literally taste the tingly charcoal. Together with the creamy latte is just a unique combination taste. It was very smooth and well balanced (you wont feel the taste of latte overpowering the charcoal) while drinking.

Mini cafe outlet, serves regular breakfast, i meant sandwiches with different kinds of coffee and brews for you to have it on the go! Tiny was the first cafe i bumped upon while heading to the airbnb apartment i booked!
The reason why i actually stopped....

The classic big breakfast. Dam is this good.

MilkGlider
Milkglider, a place with talents and great coffee. They had a few outlets around taipei and have participated in coffee contests such as Dreamchaser latteart, World Barista Champ (WBC). Coffee fest latteart world Champ. Tokyo etc. Building up the reputation on the go!
I really love the vibe here at Milkglider! White tile furnished walls with brown tables and chairs. They had this really big milkglider logo on one side of the wall. You could see it the moment you enter the cafe. It is really very spacious. They also have a big coffee bar area where they did your latte art and you could stand there to see/ video it down!
If you are a cat lover, you would love it here too because they have a cat lying, minding its own business but you could take a photo and play with it

Last and for all,
Yamada Coffee(山田珈琲店)
From the cafe layout to the coffee takeaway cup, there is only one thing to say -- small.
It's a really small outlet - more of a takeaway cuppa concept.
Transparent glass doors, furnished grey- white walls.
Yamada Coffee has a huge shelve that sells different barista equipment you needed or wanted as well as coffee beans!
They even had a wall with writings and you are able to take a break or you could say, to take a picture with it.

Small coffee bar, not much of a variety for coffee. There is Yamada Coffee (Black), Cafe au Lait (White). Also, you can choose 2 different kind of brews and 3 types of hand brew with different roasting ranging from medium to full city.
I ordered the Cafe au lait (which can be known as White),
Strong coffee flavour but it has a tingly bit of a bitter aftertaste. Still smooth but the aftertaste makes it dry. But it was still a good day with Yamada Coffee as an overall!
