First post ever since forever. I will be diligent in updating post whenever i manage to get myself slothing in a cafe or somewhere with nice food/ coffee.
I have been craving for braised minced pork rice but i couldn't find a place that serves together with a coffee or tea until i stumbled upon this beauty - 山茶 (Shan Cha).

Located at Chinatown, requires some walking distant to arrive at this small, simple yet cozy cafe that is fix around corner of streets near the overhead bridge.
ShanCha Tea, Coffee and Sake bar. One can expect varying range of drinks from this cafe. Apparently, it is recommended to have their teas in their cafe! From measuring the portion of tea leaves to volume of water to duration of brew, every pot of brewed tea are meticulously well prepared. Customers ordered the pot of tea, incredibly any pot of tea poured out smells aromatically pleasing!! Sadly, i didnt manage to try their tea.
I had coffee instead. It comes in two sizes, Regular ($5.50) and Large ($6.50). I had it in their takeaway bottle imprinted with their logo!! But Hey, it isnt that bad. I was afraid the coffee would be diluted since their specialty was on tea anyway! A marshmallow is provided for every coffee ordered. Every bite of the marshmallow follow by a sip of coffee enhances or you could also say brings out the taste of the coffee.
Main highlight of the day is the braised minced pork rice!!! It also comes in two sizes, Regular (SGD$8.50) and Large (SGD$15.50). Herbal eggs comes along together unless you want to add-on another one, that would cost you abit (SGD$2.50).
Their Minced pork rice uses:
- Australian minced pork rather than fatty pork belly.
- Pearl rice
- Taiwanese soy sauce and rice wine (台湾米酒)
- Homemade lard using solemnly pork lard and rice wine WITHOUT having to add additional water!
Full of flavour ESPECIALLY their herbal egg. It has totally absorbed the essence of the herb and its fragrance so when you indulge it together with the minced pork rice, ITS BOMBING APPETIZING!
SO WHY NOT CHECK IT OUT?
