SCF2017

Hello!
I'm back with my traces for Coffee Festival 2017! Been real busy these days and i actually forgot to update it. But here i am now, giving you my reviews! This year, coffee fest is amazingly well done with a bigger, greater and grander space for you to enjoy your cuppa and food!

Slight introduction and highlights, Coffee fest happened at Marina Bay Cruise Centre from 4-6th August 2017 having 2 sessions that consists of Brunch and Sundown - organized by Straits Time and presented by DBS bank! Over 100 exhibitors, workshops, coffee talks, DIY coffee cups and live Areopress Championship 2017 organized by Common Man Coffee Roasters were all being held there!

Before we even start the journey, when we register, each person was given this coupon to redeem a free sample coffee (2 stickers per coupon). Thankgod we had a bunch of them to try our hearts out.
So basically we didn't actually went to ALL of the exhibitions there. We kinda like chose our coffees and food that we want to try or haven't try before so here are what we had that day as stated below!
Disclaimer; Please be patient with me because its going to be another long post. Also, we might not have the same taste or views, so if you do not agree or feels bored, unhappy or whatever the reason it may be, firstly i would like to apologize and secondly feel free to press the red button on the extreme right! 😊

\Percolate\
Percolate has two booths. One that serves coffee, coffee beans, food while the other sells products such as coffee books, coffee dictionary (yes i meant dictionary that flows from a-z, each section gives you an explanation of the coffee or types of methods you need or want to know is written there), coffee mugs and something that trigger my little curiosity - soda coffee (which i didn't actually bought to try because i don't really like gassy drinks)
MOVING ON,
I ordered a sample drink - Ice Latte. Thankgod i did. It was given to me as a really small cup as shown.
I didn't really love the aftertaste of the milk they were using - prefer MEIJI over everything else there. (really sorry) I feel that Meiji milk is living up to its creamy reputation better than other milk used. (Not comparing it to Hokkaido milk of course). Not only that, the coffee that i drank made my tastebud a little dry.

\The Coffee Academics\
Been wanting to try this because they have been actively promoting it and finally, i was able to get in line. The queue was so long and for the first time i didn't mind queuing for it because i was having high hopes for this baby. Little did i know....
This coffee in a cone comes in 3 choices - Latte, chocolate and baby chino. Well they say that the Latte was the most popular one maybe because of the latte art? I dont know but whatever the reason was, i was slightly disappointed.
This little coffee in a cone costs $8sgd. It was really unique, that's for sure! However, the coffee has this strong bitter aftertaste and after attempting to mix with the chocolate (scraping it with the straw), it actually does not taste that good. Sadly, i guess this was only aesthetically pleasing and not so of a taste-bud pleasing.

\FoxHole Cafe\
Popular for their soft serve icecream in 3 choices - One in a melon (watermelon with strawberry, $9.90sgd), Corn-fuse (Grilled corn with charcoal icecream, $9.90sgd) and lastly 24karat gold icecream (charcoal earl grey larvender, $10.90sgd). Magic potions that is sold $8sgd per bottle consisting of 2 glittery and shimmery choices - Mermaid tears and glittery Unicorn.
This was what the name is called for this watermelon icecream softserve - One in a Melon. Really, one in a melon. The soft serve was kind of popular that they had to actually take down your orders and call you later for collection. Well you could say it tastes not so bad. With the combination of the strawberry icecream and the watermelon, it kinda give you that refreshing sweet juicy feeling lingering in your mouth. Perfect for sweet tooth lovers. However, i dont really prefer too sweet around my tastebud. So we didn't finish it at all.

Phew, that was tiring. Take 5 (5, 4, 3, 2, 1). Alright, lets continue the rest shall we?
\1 Degree C\
At 1 degree C, they introduced their coffee as having no artificial flavoring, colouring and preservatives. Coffee taste purely from the coffee beans itself! So we decided to get a white and a black cold brew to try out!
FINALLY, after trying some of the coffees there, i finally had a great cold brew! The white which is known as the Almond milk cold brew ($5sgd) has this strong nutty flavour and that tingly sweet aftertaste was what keeps that little heart bumping excitedly over at the booth! Then we tried the Black, with the natural ingredients used, it produces a strong bold yet smooth taste lingering. Not only that, the aftertaste was really pleasing and aromatic. I even bought back the black cold brew to enjoy at home!!

\HUGGS\
I finally bumped into a coffee that uses Meiji milk! Great, so we decided to give it a try!
Best service with amazing coffee. Really.
Ordered an ice latte (actually gotten it for free because we were told to follow and liked them through facebook and that actually allow us to saved up the sticker for other coffee in the exhibit). The ice latte was super creamy and there was not bitter aftertaste, does not feel dry upon drinking. It has this smooth, silky and fluent feel down the throat. However, its quite a small cuppa of coffee but i just love it! I will definitely pay a visit at their outlet somewhere in SG.

\Strangers Reunion x Curious Palette x Strangers @ Work\
Well, you could say this has one amaze-balls for coffee and food. No ragrets.
So they actually had 2 booths one on the inside and outside.
They had food from light bites to waffles. Coffees from espresso to filter brew to cold brews. Ciders and last but not least their coffee soft serve selling at $2sgd.

(Booth from the inside and outside)
SR x CP in short for Strangers Reunion x Curious Palette, has cold brews of 2 choices - Magic and Sea Salt chocolate which has taken a favour to many people!
It has this creamy yet strong coffee taste that soothes down the throat. Kinda like magic more than the sea salt chocolate though. Then we decided to get our brunch here as well. So we ordered,
Yuzu Salmon ($8sgd)
Fresh salmon coated with lemon juice. Shocking, no fish smell and it tasted fresh. Together with the crunchy fried wanton skin (even though it tasted oily) but still the best combination ever. Just that the portion was way too little :(
Magic Mushroom ($8sgd)
Topped with sauce. The mushrooms are fried and goes uber well with the sauce. I think it was truffles? I couldnt remember but it has this sweet tingly taste. Loving the mushrooms though!
Truffle fries ($8sgd)
Amazingly, it didnt turn out to be overcooked or soggy judging from the amount of people there. The standard for their food and coffee is really remarkable. Truffle fries topped with the truffle sauce, i could say my tummy was totally pleased with the fried and fresh food i had that day.

\Seeds\
Seeds has remarkable and refreshing brew taste i ever had. Well, the barista that filter my brew did a totally fine job. We used the sample coupon to get the sample cup for tasting. Ordered an Ethiopia and remarkably refreshing with a little acidic aftertaste. There was floral and fruity taste with it too, leaving a great impression.

Right, i've finally done introducing some of the coffee i have tasted. Here are some pictures that i took while walking around.
\Common Man Coffee Roasters\
\Oriole\
\Jewel Coffee\
 \Japanese Tea\
\Hyde & Co\
Well, there are alot more stores there at SCF2017 but because there were too many people and i couldnt take a proper nice picture of them, so i gave up HAHA. I was there to enjoy the coffee and food in the first place. Picture are actually 2nd in line. Overall a great experience indeed. While at it, you can check out their website or social media platforms for the various cafe even though the festival was already long over!
