VXX Co-operative

VXX, it gives me a very cosy yet freestyle kind of environment vibe - cater to keeping up good quality in both the coffee and service of their customers. You won't usually see a simple interesting kind of coffee bar setting like this around.
Though quite limited seating around the cafe but they do have a table to cater large groups behind, in front of the open kitchen area.
Well, they had a whole day breakfast menu for both the weekday and weekends, brunch that starts from 12pm onwards and desserts. So here's what we got for our hungry tummys.
We started off with the chocolate brownie
We actually just wanted to stuff something for our stomach while waiting for our main course. The brownie was just a small let say around 4cm x 4cm square with width of 2cm maybe? ((It isn't accurate okay, description is based on how i see it)). The brownie was heated, making it warm to consume. There was crunchy almond nuts topped inside, together with the richness of the warm chocolate, it was so addictive that we ended up ordering the second time.

Miso- maple Salmon topped with butter asparagus and couscous ($21sgd).
Well, i would actually rate this 6/10. Okay, it was good but just that the salmon has this fishy aftertaste and that it wasn't warm when served, kinda like cold. Asparagus was crunchy and wasn't that oily and lastly couscous, the rice-lookalike. It looks like rice, tasted like rice but nope, it isn't a rice. The couscous was filled with many different taste that mixes really well together yet overall it's a regret because it just wasn't served warm for a dish like this. ((Maybe we were just unlucky))

Moving on, if i said that Symmetry's Egg Bens got me on cloud9, then THIS dish here got me beyond the heavens.
Poached eggs with Hollandiase topped with duck meat on the warm brioche and crispy kale ($16sgd).
Runny eggs benedict, together with the salty smoke duck and soft warm brioche, PERFECT. Hollandiase wasn't thick and does not have an overpowering taste. It mixes well with the other parts of the food. Crispy kale, i think it's roasted, tingled with little salty taste that makes it feels like you're actually eating those kind of seaweed snack which you can get at a supermarket. Don't worry about the whole dish being too salty because it isn't and i amazingly liked it!

Lastly, two cups of ice white (~$6sgd/cuppa)
Ice white was good, well just that it has a more creamy taste than a balance with the coffee.

So if you're interested, do head down and try because they will always update their menu every 3-4 months. So do grab it before the menu changes!
